Many of our accounting students already know this, but getting your MAcc (Master of Accountancy) and passing the CPA exam is a great way to get your career off on the right foot — even if you don’t have an accounting concentration!
If you’re a Business Analytics or Finance student who hasn’t lined up a full-time post-graduation position, we encourage you to consider applying to UVM’s Master of Accountancy Program (MAcc). The MAcc is a one-year, 30 credit hour master’s degree program designed to prepare graduates for careers in accounting and for passing the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam.
MAcc graduates have a consistently strong record of post-graduation full-time employment and first-time CPA exam pass rates, including three consecutive years with pass rates in the top 3% of the nation.
Equally important during these disrupted economic times, our graduating students have been informed by their future employers that all positions are secure.
Knowledge of financial reporting, auditing and taxation is a natural extension of a concentration in Business Analytics or Finance. Many individuals with successful finance and data careers began their careers in public accounting where they obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, providing a strong background when they moved into their next sector.
