Interns are placed on client-facing teams and partnered with the firm's senior consultants and subject matter experts to learn and grow in the work, contributing to projects that are strategic priorities for our company. At the end of the program, you will provide a final communication product - written, verbal, and/or in a presentation - to tie together key findings from your time and project work at The Clearing.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: As a Data Analytics Intern, you will generate insights by helping team members conduct analyses of proprietary firm and client data. You will advise on opportunities for process improvement that empower our teams to deliver exceptional experiences for employees and clients. You will have the unique opportunity to help shape a new approach to The Clearing’s data analytics offerings. In the process, you will use your knowledge of databases and software to help our clients organize, match, and clean their data so that they can use it in their goal to create dynamic performance analytics dashboards.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:
Gather, cleanse and validate both structured and unstructured data
Create data maps of existing data points, source systems, and potential areas of overlap, double data entry, or inconsistencies
Compare and extract data using methods deemed appropriate
Develop and use knowledge of software and technology to design innovative approaches to solve data-related challenges
Analyze, interpret and present historical financial, operational, transactional, and experiential data
Create, update and refactor data visualizations (using PowerBI, Python, Tableau)
Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex data sets
WHAT YOU BRING:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Rising junior or rising senior candidates preferred
One (1) year of prior work experience in an office or professional environment, required
Willingness and ability to work 4-5 days a week (minimum of 32 hours a week) required
Willingness and ability to travel to client sites in the surrounding DC and Baltimore metro areas; occasional travel outside of these regions could be expected (5%)
Proficiency in key data analytics tools such as Tableau, Python, R, and PowerBI
